Hair Removal and Reduction

Say Hello to Smoother Skin

Are you tired of spending hours shaving and waxing pesky hairs only for them to immediately grow back? Face 2 Face Aesthetics and Wellness in The Villages®, Leesburg and Tavares offers revolutionary laser treatments including laser hair reduction for patients who are looking to say “hello” to smoother skin and “goodbye” to shaving regularly.

The safe and successful procedure can be performed on most areas of the body including the:

  • Brows
  • Upper lip
  • Chin
  • Neck
  • Armpits
  • Arms
  • Abdomen
  • Bikini line
  • Back
  • Legs

Laser hair reduction may not work for patients with dark skin or light-colored hair. While the laser treatment is effective for most of our patients, it may take several sessions for you to achieve the optimal results that you are looking for. Because your comfort is one of our highest priorities, our skilled specialists use techniques to increase the efficacy of the procedure while minimizing the discomfort and irritation.

How does laser hair reduction work?

The laser emits a gentle beam of light that passes through skin to the hair follicle where it is absorbed. Upon absorption, the laser energy is transformed into heat which disables the follicle.
This scientific principle is called Thermokinetic Selectivity (TKS™).

Why is TKS™ important?

TKS™ makes it possible for laser energy to “select” hair follicles while sparing surrounding skin from damage. This brings cosmetic results you want with clinical results you need.

How do I know if I’m a good candidate for laser hair removal?

If you are concerned about unwanted hair, you are probably a good candidate for laser hair removal. The most dramatic results occur for patients with either light skin or dark hair. Other factors can influence the treatment process. Schedule an initial consultation to be evaluated.

Is the treatment painful?

Most patients describe the treatment as a series of slight pin pricks to the skin. The majority of patients tolerate this sensation without requiring anesthetics. Within about 30 minutes, the treated areas may become pink or red. This may last from a few hours to one day.

How many treatments are required?

Repeat sessions are required. Hair grows in cycles. The laser only affects hair when it is in its early-growth phase. The laser will disable follicles that are actively producing hair at the time of treatment. At any time, some hair follicles are dormant. Repeat sessions will treat these follicles when they re-enter the growth phase.
